This week, we thought we'd let you see what happens at our parent company, HST Tailors. It's coming to be wedding season, so they're busy making suits for grooms and groomsmen. Here are some thoughts on why men should custom-make their wedding wear. Enjoy!
You’re getting married soon, and of course, you want it to be special. The bride is busy with her bridesmaids and family, picking out the perfect wedding dresses for the photos. And the ceremony. And the reception banquet. But what will you wear? Here’s why you should invest in a custom-made suit.
Bespoke Suits for the Groom and Groomsmen
By working with a tailor to create custom suits, not only will you ensure that you look immaculate on your wedding day, thanks to a perfect fit, but you will also be able to choose the style and details that will best flatter your body type. Your groomsmen will also look impeccable in their suits, and will be able to create a harmonious look to your whole group that will fit together tighter than a K-pop boy band. Maybe everyone will all use the same fabric for their ties, but some will make different types of ties, pocket squares, or suit lining. Each one can look unique and stunning on his own, plus together, they will be the perfect wing men to the groom.
Matching the Bridal Party
By custom making your own suits, the Groom and Groomsmen can even coordinate with the women to match styles and colours with the bridesmaids and flowers. If the wedding will have a specific theme, such as ‘1920s Shanghai’, or ‘Winter Wonderland’, then the men can all make suits that perfectly fit the theme. Maybe they will choose to have suits of a lighter colour to match a wintery ambiance, or go with Mandarin collared jackets to bring out the Shanghai theme, with or without frog buttons, depending on how far you want to take it. If you’re looking for suits that would suit a beach wedding, with pale colours and fabrics that breathe, having these custom-made can be much easier than hunting around the shops looking for something that isn’t there.
How Formal?
When you’re in control of the design of your suit, you can decide how formal you want the event to be, as your suits will set the tone of the wedding just as much as the wedding dresses will of the women. If you’re opting for top hats and tails, tuxedos, or maybe no jackets at all, you can simply work with the tailor to get the look that’s best for you and your plans.
Fit to a ‘T’
If you’re the pragmatic type, you can also choose a suit that will be tasteful and stylish, and look amazing on you, but will also be a suit that you can wear to work or other more formal occasions. For this, you’ll want a suit that’s got fairly classic style rather than trendy, and high quality enough that it will last you for at least a few years.
Personal Style
A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event to showcase your personal style, and what better way to do that than through your clothes? When you work with a tailor to make your wedding suits, your own taste and personality can shine through, and create a memorable and unique look that only you could ever have.
